November 8, 1936 - November 20, 2020

A Celebration of Life Service for Richard A. Patton, age 84, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church, with Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Richard was born November 8, 1936, in Ames, OK, to Chelsea and Luella Spalding Patton and passed away Friday, November 20, 2020, at The Commons Nursing Home.

He grew up in the Ames-Ringwood community and graduated from Ringwood High School in 1955. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served 6 years, being honorably discharged in June 1965. He married Jalene Unruh on November 11, 1956, in Meno, OK. Richard was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and in every place God led him to serve.

Richard worked at Vance Air Force Base for 43 years, retiring as the civil engineering operations manager. Besides his family he loved to watch western movies, OU Sooner Football and the Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by his wife Jalene of the home; daughters, Teresa and husband Rob Burnett and Kimberly Smith and husband Kyle; son, Ricky and wife Emily Patton; grandchildren, Blake, Heather, Trenton, Dustin, Scott, Riley, Daniel, and Bryce; brother, David Patton and wife Trilla; sisters, Anita and Roger Smith, Mary Goss, and Karen and Jay Leierer; and several other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Phyllis, Danny, and Barbara; and grandson Derek.

Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
