Cynthia M. Parkinson, 90, was born in St. Sterling, Illinois August 21, 1915 to Thomas E. and Blanche L. (Grigson) Croxton. Cynthia passed away Thursday, October 13, 2005.
Cynthia was a graduate of Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. While in college she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She was a member of King's Way United Methodist Church in Springfield where she was active in her Sunday School class and the King's Ringers Bell Choir. She was also an avid bridge player and enjoyed her many bridge-playing friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Harry Parkinson, and her son, Alan Parkinson. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Louise and Garold Henson, Springfield; her daughter-in-law Martha Parkinson, Tulsa; her brother, Frank E. Croxton; and a niece, Beth Brown, both of Florida.
Other survivors include three granddaughters and their husbands -- Sarah and Mike Lowery; Laura and Todd Snedegar; and Lisa and Tim Moore. She also had four great grandchildren -- Jordan Elizabeth Beach, Cate Snedegar, and Stephen and Shannon Moore.
Visitation will be at Gorman-Scharpt Funeral Home on Sunday, October 16 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at King's Way United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 17. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid, Oklahoma on Tuesday, October 18 at 11 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Missouri or to the donor's charity of choice.
