Dale Eugene Pendleton
Thursday, December 23rd, 1937 - Monday, October 16th, 2023
A Celebration of Life Service for Dale Eugene Pendleton age 85 of Enid will be 2:00 pm Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the Garden Chapel in Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Jim Edmison officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Dale was born December 23, 1937 in Cordell, OK to G.W. and Fannie (Jones) Pendleton and passed away October 16, 2023 in the Greenbrier Nursing Center. He graduated from Cordell High School in 1956. He attended Phillips University. Dale married his teenage sweetheart Judy Cozart on August 16, 1958 and were married 58 years. She passed away November 24, 2016. Dale worked for Garfield Battery and Electric, Si Siler Studebaker, Avis Rent-a-Car, and Haddad Enterprise retiring in 2000. He was a member of Crime Stoppers and Gideons International. Dale coached many Little League teams including his sons teams.
In 1970, he took up the hobby of sports officiating which was his favorite pastime for over 26 years. Dale called baseball, softball, basketball, and his favorite was football. Dale and his crew officiated the State Championships in 1992 and 1999. He received many honors and recognitions thru the years and he was a Master Umpire. In 1998, he was inducted into the Oklahoma Softball Hall of Fame. He assigned many referees for football games, girls’ softball, and boys Jr High games. Dale was the treasurer and secretary of Enid Officials Association for many years. Dale was a long-time member of the Community Church of the Plains, where he served as the worship leader and served on the board. He loved his church and his family.
Dale is survived by his onery sons; Scott and wife Kristy Pendleton of Enid and Darin and wife Lori Pendleton of Edmond. His wonderful grandchildren; Shane and Olivia Pendleton, Lexie Pendleton, Kayla and Chad Enloe, and Nicole and Bradley Smith, two great-grandchildren, Willa Pendleton, and Tatum Enloe and two players on deck.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ralph and Harold, a sister Lois Dean Ellis, twin sons, and a great-grandchild Lorenn Eva Marie Enloe.
