Celebration of life service for Marvin G. Myers, age 90, of Enid, will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2017, at the First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Bruce Johnson officiating. Visitation with family will be Thursday, October 12, 2017, at Anderson Burris Funeral Home from 6:00 to 7:30pm. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory. Marvin was born Aug. 24, 1927, to John and Esther Myers in McPherson, Kansas, and passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, following a stoke.

He served in the Korean Occupations and later married Patsy Clark. They made their home in Enid. To this union two sons were born, Ron and Barry. After starting at Central College in McPherson, KS, he completed his bachelor's degree at Seattle Pacific University and later attended Phillips University where he received his Master's Degree. He taught chemistry at Enid High School for 37 years. After retiring from teaching he worked at Miles Music for 23 years. Marvin had a huge garden every summer and his grandchildren have fond memories of digging potatoes and picking green beans.

He worked many hours in his woodworking shop making furniture and toys for his loved ones. Marvin's wife Patsy died in 1997 and he later married Mildred Wheeler in 2002. As most people remember him as Mr. Myers, from teaching, many people will remember him as a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. He has been a member of the First Church of the Nazarene for many years, and sang with a traveling Quartet called "The Joyful Heirs" for 10 years. Marvin spent many years serving as a Gideon with Gideons International. Marvin and Mildred continued to have a Bible Study group in their home and were blessed with this association with their friends.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Mildred; son, Ron and Nancy Myers of Essex Junction, Vermont, and son, Barry and Donna Myers of Nampa, Idaho; grandchildren, Casey and Jonathan Watson, Gabe and Melinda Myers, Andy and Leigh Myers, Hannah, Sarah, and Noah Myers; 9 great-grandchildren; and step-daughter, Judy Hill.

Memorials may be made to the Gideons International, in lieu of flowers. Guestbook available online at www.AndersonBurris.com.
