The funeral for Lois S. Murray, 96, will be at 10 AM Friday in the University Place Christian Church with the Reverends Mike S. Nicholson and John Peterson officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.
She was born January 26, 1901, at Meadowview, Virginia, to Henry Newton and Emma A. Goodman Stump and died Tuesday, March 11, 1997, in the Columbia Edmond Memorial Center.
She had trained as a nurse prior to her marriage to Clyde Lester Murray Sr., on July 24, 1920, in Iowa. They lived in the Oklahoma and Enid area for over 50 years. She moved to the Oklahoma Christian Home in Edmond in January 1992. She was a homemaker, a member of the Eastern Star, the East Side Garden Club, AARP and the University Place Christian Church.
She is survived by one son, Robert C. Murray of Richardson, Texas; one sister, Senah Blessing of Seven Mile Ford, Virginia; five grandchildren and three great – grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, one sister and two brothers.
Memorials may be made to University Place Christian Church with the funeral home serving as custodian of the funds. The casket will be open until service time.
