ENID,OK OBITUARY
Funeral services for Charlotte Esther Morris, age 96, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Shorty Unruh and Bob Douglas will officiate. There will be a time of visitation with the family 4-6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Charlotte was born on Nov. 12, 1912, at Trail, OK, to Charles and Mary Gull Murphy and died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at Golden Oaks Retirement Center.
At the age of 6, her mother passed away, and she was raised by Tyree and Cora Adams, who were wonderful parents to her. After graduating from Pioneer High School, she married her high school sweetheart, John Morris, and they lived their 67 years of life together in the Pioneer, Covington and Enid area. John preceded her in death in 1997.
She was a member of the Victory Bible Church. She taught high school and young married Sun day school classes for 30 years. She was an active member of Fairview District, Bethany and Covington East Side home extension clubs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, son, J.T. Morris, her parents, foster parents, five brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by one foster sister, Mr. Harold (Rita) Schulz of Douglas; two daughters, Patty and her husband, Alfred Walters; Oletta and her husband, Stanley Dotson, both of Enid; seven grandchilren; 13 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorials made in honor of Charlotte may be made to Hospice Circle of Love or personal choice of charity with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds.
