James K. Morlan, 73, died of an apparent heart attack Friday in his home at 418 S. Harding. His funeral is at 2:30 PM Sunday in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel with Lendal Bolin officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.

Born November 17, 1903 in Des Moines, Iowa, Morlan came to Oklahoma with his parents. He was reared and attended school in Trail and Leedy. He also operated a grocery in Leedy for several years.

He married the former Nova Kenneaster on December 29, 1924 in Camargo. They moved to Enid in 1947 and he worked for the A & A Grocery. He also operated a fountain in the Bass Building. The past four years, Morlan worked as a salesman for the L. D. Jones Food Company.

Morlan, a member of the Garriott Road Church of Christ and Leedy Masonic Lodge, was preceded in death by his wife, parents, three sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Joyce) Schneider, Lansing, Kansas; one sister, Mrs. Wilma Pickens, Siloarn Springs, Arkansas; two granddaughters, two great – grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
