Mrs. G. C. (Ruby) Morefield, 71, 2111 W. Maple, died in an Oklahoma City hospital Wednesday morning following a long illness.
Her funeral rites will be at 10:30 AM Saturday in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Wade, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family has designated the Cancer Division of the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation or the Library Fund of the First Baptist Church as suitable memorials for Mrs. Morefield. Henninger – Allen will serve as custodian of these funds. It
Mrs. Morefield was born near Burlington and moved with her family to Alva at an early age. She and G. C. Morefield were married July 2, 1918, in Alva and lived in Burlington several years before moving to Enid in the 1920s.
Mrs. Morefield was a member of the First Baptist Church, the LLL Sunday school class, Women's Missionary Union and Les Artes Club.
She is survived by her husband, G. C. of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Lorene) Nichola, Nashua, New Hampshire, Mrs. Jack (Jean) Myers, Oklahoma City and Mrs. Neal (Della Ann) Polwort of Enid; four sons, Marion of El Reno, Dean of Minco, CPO Richard Morefield, Albany, Georgia, and CPO Robert M. Morefield, San Juan, Puerto Rico; 17 grandchildren; three great – grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Charles (Della) Branson of Alva; two sisters, Zelma Branson of Alva and Mrs. Frank (Afton) Templin, Alva.
