Funeral services for Darrell Parker Miller, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairmont, Oklahoma. Pastor Tim Dorsch to officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Family visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today, Dec. 11, 2008, at the funeral home. Darrell Miller was born to Herman and Clara (Brandt) Miller on Feb. 19, 1927, on the family farm in Douglas, Oklahoma. He passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at the age of 81.

He attended schools in Douglas and enlisted in the Navy right after graduating high school. While in the Navy, Darrell was a corpsman medic in San Diego and New York and later became a Certified Dental Technologist. After three years of service he moved back to Enid, where he worked at the Enid Dental Lab. He met Naomi Morrison through the introduction of Naomi's twin sister, Winona. She was the dental assistant to Dr. Mabry, who was good friends with Darrell. They married on March 18, 1951, and were married 48 years before her death on Feb. 25, 1999. After several years, Darrell eventually bought the Enid Dental Lab and changed the name to Enid Crown and Bridge Dental Lab, owning the business for over 40 years.

He was a member of Jaycee's, acting as president for some time, the Association of Certified Dental Technologists, also acting as president for some time, PTA and Kiwanis Club, as well as serving as deacon of the Central Christian Church, later returning to Zion Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; three siblings, Bob Miller, A.C. Miller, Lee Miller; and great-granddaughter, Kendra Rose Marcy Johnson.

Darrell is survived by two daughters, Brenda Johnson and husband, Ron of Arizona, and Tammy Miller-Elkins, PhD of Wilmington, Delaware; two granddaughters, Roni Dee Sanchez and husband, Andrew, Staci Rose Marcy and husband, Ken; nine great-grandchildren, Gabriel Parker, Alexander Xavier, Andrianna Rose, Zoe Jane Sanchez, Keira Elyse, Dylan, Tyler, Erika and Phillip Marcy; and well as siblings, Kenneth Miller, Richard Miller, Ronald Miller, MaryLou Boepple and Lucille Katherine Snodgrass
