A Celebration of Life and Remembrance for John F. McMullen, age 76 years, of Enid, is 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Tony Hays will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. John passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 surrounded by his family.
John was born in Sharon, Oklahoma to Warren McMullen and Lena (Lyons) McMullen. He attended Vici Public Schools and also attended school in Liberal, Kansas. He moved to Enid in 1956 where he met the love of his life, Patty Hays, and they were married July 22, 1960. They had two children, Fonda and Johnny. He worked for Great Lakes Carbon for 37 years, retiring in 2002. After retirement, John enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He also loved restoring his 1937 Ford Coupe. He and Pat attended The House of Prayer Church where he helped with the food bank. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with Pat, his children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Lena, two brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patty, of the home in Enid; daughter, Fonda Passmore and husband Mark, of Enid; son Johnny McMullen and wife Tracy, of Enid; one sister, JoAnna Phillips, of Enid; two granddaughters, three grandsons, several nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Memorials in John’s name may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Heart Division with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
