The graveside service for Eddie Chancey “Butch” McGinnis, 66, of Enid will be 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor David Jones officiating. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
He was born on Feb. 9, 1948, to Eddie Sr. and Katherine McGinnis in Enid, Okla. He passed from this life with his family by his side after a courageous battle for his life on Sept. 30, 2014, in Enid.
Eddie lived life to the fullest. He was very passionate about hunting and often found peace in the woods. He loved to laugh and had a gift for making others do the same. He was immensely proud of his family; his sons for carrying on his family traditions and possessing his strong character and his daughters for being strong beautiful women who devote themselves to their families.
He was successful in his business endeavors, including Area 51. He worked tirelessly to build his dream into a reality.
He was loved by many and will always hold a place in the heart of those who knew him well. He will be missed and never forgotten. His legacy will live through the strength and courage he instilled in those he loved. We are all better for having known him and will cherish his memories until we are reunited.
He is survived by his children, Brandy McGinnis, Eddie Chancey McGinnis III, Trae Repogle, Heather Ochampaugh, Katie Hayes and Scout McGinnis; grandchildren, Desaray, Asti, Blaze, Rowdy, Hailey, Nevaeh, Karson, Bentley, Blakely, Ruby, Trae Jr., Emily, Bailey, Zachary, Hailey and Rosalee; and fianceé Paula Hensley and her children, Aria, Evan and Elliot.
He was preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Cherish Melody Buller.
