October 3, 1951 - April 27, 2019

The Funeral services celebrating and honoring the life of Edwin "Ed" Dale McDowell, 67, of Enid will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday May 02, 2019 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kenneth Wade officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

He was born October 03, 1951 in Fairview, Oklahoma to Vestal Ray and Nola Wilson McDowell and passed from this life on April 27, 2019 in Enid, Oklahoma.

He moved to Enid with his family as a child. He was raised and educated in Enid, graduating from Enid High School with the class of 1970. He married Donna Chance in Enid on August 29, 1970. She died on September 7, 2006. He worked for R and J metal as a laborer from 1970 until 1981. In 1982, he worked for George E. Failings company and worked there until 1987. He hauled drilling mud for several companies for a few years and in June of 1986, he went to work for Enid Grain Inspection and worked for them as an Inspector for over 33 years.

He is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Stuart, of Garber, OK., Shelly McDowell, of Enid, OK., and Candice McDowell, of Midland, TX., seven grandchildren, one great grandson brothers, Martin McDowell, of Enid, OK., Gary McDowell, of Enid, OK., sisters, Leola "Skeet" Campbell, of Enid, OK., and Arnita McDowell, of Billings, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Donna, the love of is life, sister, Norene Thompson, and granddaughter, Autumn Lynch.

Memorials may be made in his name to the American Heart Association with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
