Sergeant and Mrs. Paul Maughan announced the arrival of a 6 lbs. 14 oz. daughter, in the Worley Hospital in Pampa, Texas, November 5. The young lady has been named Paula Jo.
Sergeant Maughan is in the Southwest Pacific with the 51st General Hospital Medical Division. Mrs. Maughan, formerly Freda Mae Berkenbile, is living at present with Mr. and Mrs. George W. Maughan, of White Deer, Texas. Paula Jo and her mother are progressing nicely.

The funeral for Paula Jo Maughan, 52, will be at 2 PM Saturday in Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Gene Adams Funeral Service of Bethany.
She was born November 5, 1944, in Pampa, Texas, to Paul and Freda May Berkenbile Maughan – Mulhall and died Wednesday, April 30, 1997, in Oklahoma City.
Following paralysis, caused by a spinal tumor, she attended Enid Public Schools, graduating 19th in a class of 366 in 1963. She attended the University of Oklahoma on a Regents Scholarship, receiving a B. A. in Spanish in 1971.
She was employed by the Oklahoma Employment Commission and served as secretary to the Oklahoma WIN coordinator until her medical retirement.
She is survived by her mother, Freda, of the home; her father, Paul, of Rogers, Arkansas; two sisters, Dale Lopez of Glendale, California, Rae Ann Spurlock of Temple, Texas and brother, Roy Maughan of Oklahoma City.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crisis Pregnancy Center.
Viewing will be at Gene Adams Funeral Service on Friday.
