Graveside service for Lavina Mauck, age 94, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
Lavina was born to Benjamin and Susie (Koehn) Smith Dec. 31, 1920, in Goltry, and passed away Friday, June 12, 2015, in Enid.
On Aug. 26, 1939, Lavina married John Charles Mauck, in Dover, Oklahoma.
They moved to Enid, where Lavina worked for Swift’s, dressing chickens and breaking eggs. Her spring and summers were always spent outside doing what she loved, working in her flower beds. Lavina and John grew a lot of their own fruits and vegetables that Lavina either canned or froze. They also raised and sold Rottweiler dogs, and Lavina trained and showed them at numerous dog shows.
Lavina is survived by her husband John, of the home; daughter Connie Wright and husband Merland, of Enid; six grandchildren Cindy (Terry) Brumfield, Tina Eck, Clay Wehling, Wendy (Jeff) Huskey, Brad Wright, and Michael (Deanna) Wright; seven great-grandchildren: Sara Jobe, Keri Jobe, Brandi Wehling, Dillon Wehling, Megan Huskey, Jacob Wright, Kaitlyn Wright; two great great-granddaughters, Madison Weve and Avery Halstead; brother Verlin (Sue) Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Joetta Wehling; two sisters; and four brothers.
