The funeral for Dorothy H. Martin, 93, of Enid, will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2009, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. John McLemore will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. She was born Dec. 24, 1915, on the family homestead near Salt Fork to Joseph and Eda Catherine Neff and died Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at Golden Oaks Nursing Home

She was a graduate of Hunter High School and attended nursing school at Enid General Hospital. She married Kenneth H. Martin in 1938 in Enid, where they made their home. She was a longtime member of Central Christian Church, a 50-year member of Chapter DB, PEO, a volunteer at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center, a member of Enid Symphony Auxiliary, Junior Welfare League of Enid and Sons and Daughters of the Cherokee Strip Pioneers.

Surviving are one son, John K. Martin of Enid; one sister, Jean Pressler of Fredricksburg, Texas; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, two daughters, one brother and two sisters.
