A celebration of life service for Eloise Smith Miller, 90, of Enid, will be held at 2pm on Thursday, November 3rd 2022 at the Enid First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 7 at the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
Eloise was born to Montra and Elsie May Waits on June 28th, 1932 on the farm at Woodward, Oklahoma and passed away on October 29th, 2022 in Enid. Eloise married Kenneth Smith on August 6, 1956 in Woodward and they made their home in Enid. Following Kenneth's death in December 2012, Eloise married Dale Miller of Waukomis on January 14th, 2017 and they made their home in Enid. Eloise led a full life, serving as a schoolteacher in New Mexico and Alaska, then establishing a day care at her home in Stillwater and then in Enid. In 1978 she purchased a small greenhouse business, then moved and expanded it over the next 40 years to become The Garden House. She was a life-long member of the Church of the Nazarene, and over 50 years at Enid First Nazarene Church where she played piano and organ for many of those years. She was a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ and touched many lives through her encouraging words and gracious manner.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth; sons, Kenton, Doug and Monty Smith; parents; and brother, Jess Waits.
Eloise is survived by her husband, Dale Miller of the home, one daughter, Brenda and husband Bill Hane, of Piedmont Oklahoma, Daughter-in-law, Julie Smith of Enid, and 4 grandchildren, Aaron Hane, Andrew Hane, Dylan Smith and wife Mariah, and Owen Smith.
