A Celebration of Life for Duane H. Lyda, 87, of Enid, will be Monday, June 13, 2016, 10:30 AM at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ted Kuschel officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Lyda was born May 28, 1929 and passed away June 9, 2016. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Duane was a graduate of Caldwell High School and he was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was united in marriage to Thata DeMoss October 21, 1949 in Enid, OK and she preceded him in death September 30, 2010. Duane was employed by Union Equity for 35 years. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where he sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and served as a deacon. Duane enjoyed fly fishing, traveling to Colorado and spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a hard worker, a kind and loving father and grandfather. He loved serving his savior, Jesus Christ.
Survivors include, a daughter, Jana Moehle and her husband, Michael of Carrier, a son, Alan Lyda of Enid, OK, grandchildren, Ryan Moehle and his wife Rachel, Jess Lyda and his wife Kenzie, Robin Peyton and her husband Shane, Sara Reitz and her husband Adam, Rachel Lyda, nine great-grandchildren and one on the way. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Memorial contributions may be made to the OMRF, Alzheimer’s division with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home custodian of the funds.
