The home-going service for Curtis Lofton, 58, of Enid, Okla., will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015, at First Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Alfred Baldwin will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Service is under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Curtis was born Dec. 22, 1956, to Wilbert and Jean Ann Jackson Lofton in Enid, Okla., and passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015, in Enid.
He grew up in Enid and graduated from Enid High School in 1975. He received his bachelor’s in physics and business administration on scholarship at West Texas State. He walked on to the football team.
He attended Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos training camps. He played pro football in the Canadian Football League.
He married Shubella Ann (Lawrence) Lofton on Tuesday, May 15, 2015.
He moved back to Enid to be near family. He worked at Pepsi for 10 years and also was employed by Enid Public Schools. He was always a hard worker. He retired from Enid Public Schools after 26 plus years.
He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Shubella; his children, Curtis Lofton, Allison Lofton, Jemial Lofton, Curtis Jr., Ameshia Lofton, Desirea Lofton, Demetris Lofton, Alexander Lofton, Demetria Lofton, Antonine Lofton, Alexis Lofton, and one step-daughter, Aleisha Atkinson; his father; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, one brother and one sister.
Memorials may be given to the Enid Public School Foundation, with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
