The graveside service for Maralee Irene Smith Lochner, 97, Enid, will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015, in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Hall officiating under direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
She was born Nov. 6, 1917, at Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to George I and Molly E. Kirkpatrick Smith and died Saturday March 14, 2015, at Greenbrier in Enid. At an early age, the family moved to Kremlin, Okla., where she attended grade school. She graduated from Kremlin High school in 1935. In 1933, she was named Garfield County 4-H Student of the Year.
On Oct. 24, 1939, she married Ora Ferral “Pete” Lochner. To this union, three children were born, Billy Ray, Diana Jo and Ferral Ann. After attending one year at Phillips University, she went to work at FW Woolworths. While her children were school age, she was a homemaker. She then worked for 15 years for Bestyet and Boys Market as a check/cashier. After her retirement, she spent her time traveling at the lake or doing needlework and always enjoyed being with her family and friends.
Maralee is survived by her son Bill Lochner and wife Candice, and daughter Ferral and husband Mike McKay, all of Enid; grandchildren Jeff and Susie Lochner, Bill Lochner, Scott Semrad, Tisha and Brandon Cusick, Gina McKay, Demmie Lochner, Jett and Laura McKay; great-grandchildren, Nichole Lochner, Jake Lochner, Cash Semrad, McKennah Yandell, Mackenzie, Gavin and Bryan Cusick, Rhys and Sydnee McKay; a sister, Natalie Wood, Richardson, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; daughter, Diana Semrad; her parents; and brother, Kirk Smith.
Memorials in her memory may be made to Hospice Circle of Love with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds. Condolences may be made be shared with the family online at www.Brown- Cummings.com.
