ENID, OK — Funeral service for Juanita Lloyd, 70, of Enid, Okla., will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2014, at Ladusau-Evans Chapel, with the Rev. Barry Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Juanita Lloyd was affectionately known as Nita, Momma and Omie. She was one of seven children born to the late Joseph and Lillian Jackson on May 1, 1943, in El Reno, Okla. Juanita transcended to heaven on Monday March 10, 2014.

Juanita graduated from Enid High School in 1961. In pursuit of her dream to become a social worker, she continued her quest for higher education and graduated with an associate of arts degree in social services in Long Beach, Calif.

She married Eddie L. Lloyd Sr., and to this union, she was blessed with four children.

She was an entrepreneur. She opened and ran a number of successful businesses: Nita’s Boutique in Long Beach, Calif.; Lloyd’s Ethic Décor in Carson, Calif.; and then ventured out to Real Estate with Lloyd’s Property Management, with multiple properties in California and Oklahoma.

She served as president of Southern Heights Community Center in Enid, Okla., where she was able to provide assistance to the community in the form of food, utility assistance and youth job services.

Juanita never met a stranger. She loved talking to people. She was loved by everyone she touched. She always opened her home to her nieces, nephews and friends of her children, who thought of her as their second mom. She always gave good advice, guidance and loved everyone who entered her home as if they were one of her very own children.

Juanita’s favorite past time was spending time with her grandchildren, cooking large family meals for the holidays, and decorating her home. Her main hobby was home restoration.

Juanita accepted Christ at a young age. She was an active member of Greater Open Door of Carson, Calif., under the leadership of Pastor Dr. Garon Harden Sr. Juanita loved the Lord and made it her mission to shine wherever she went. She never hesitated to share the goodness of the Lord with her family, friends and staff at the hospital where she received her treatment. She will truly be missed for her sweet soul and “tell like it is” spirit. She was also a member of The Order of Eastern Star (OES).

She leaves to cherish her memory: children, Eddie and Linda Lloyd Jr., Abilene Texas, Patrick Lloyd, Marcus and Tonya Lloyd of Carson, Calif., her daughter, April Lloyd of Carson, Calif.; her soul-mate of 32 years, Robert Peoples, Carson, Calif.; her brothers, Joseph and Opel Jackson Jr., Richard and Patricia Jackson, Leonard Jackson Sr., Bobby Jackson and William Jackson; and her sister, Mary Byrd; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Ricky and Teresa Peoples and Gloria and Alvin Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lillian Jackson Sr., and brothers, Roy Gene Jackson and Johnny Ray Sanders.

Condolences may be made online and the service may be viewed online for those unable to attend the service at www.ladusauevans.com.
