Kevin was born on March 20, 1959 to Carrie Harnetha Lawrence Lewis and the late Charlie Lewis Jr, in North Tarrytown, N.Y. and passed away on July 15, 2017 in Mississippi.

Kevin accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Peeksill, N.Y. He enlisted in the United States Army as a medical corpsman. After moving to Columbus, Ohio he was employed as an on air personality for WBBY Jazz Station 104.FM. He arrived in Enid, where he was the deli manager at Vance Air Force Base Commissary, providing energy like no other. Kevin found his niche in long hall truck driving for Forward Air Trucking with his co-pilot, Missy, his dog. Kevin loved animals, was an avid horseback rider, loved music and played the piano.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father Charlie Lewis, Jr., and stepfather James Purvis Sr.

Kevin is survived by his 3 children Ian Lewis (Tori) of Okinawa Japan, Stephanie Goodlow (Brandon), and Rachael Lewis all of Marietta, Georgia; he was the grandfather of Marcus, Devon, Kaden and Zach; his mother Carrie Harnetha Lewis Purvis of Enid; his 3 sisters Yvonne Lewis-Odom of Enid, Angela Redd (Rashid), and Charlene Lewis all of Wappingers Falls N.Y. and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and close family and friends.

Kevin’s smile, laugher and BUCKEYE spirit will be missed by all.
