FORT WORTH, Texas Katherine (Fry) Langford was born on July 25, 1911, to Ella May and William Henry Fry in Enid, Oklahoma. She was the oldest of their eight children. Katherine passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at the age of 106, in Hurst, Texas.

After graduating from Enid High School in 1929, Katherine completed her education at Enid Business College. She married Ray Langford in 1933, and they raised two daughters, Shirley and Mary Jo. She exercised and participated in water aerobics at the YMCA for 35 years, and enjoyed visiting with friends, including long-time neighbor and friend Jane Hovey, as well as her large family. After living in Enid for 95 years, Katherine moved to Fort Worth, Texas, to be close to her daughter and grandchildren. Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ella May Fry; husband, Ray Langford; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and James Sturdevant; and five of her siblings, Eldon Fry, Harry Fry, Edna May Robinson, Paul Fry, and Margaret Parker.

Katherine is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jo and J.W. Shaunty; and five grandchildren and spouses who adored her, Kathy and Keith Lorenzen, Shari and Ron Moore, Susan and Larry Cline, Tom and Kathy Sturdevant, and David and Kari Sturdevant. She is survived by eleven great-grandchildren and their spouses, Kyle and Dianna Cline, Kevin and Katrina Cline, Megan and Seth Ziegler, Tiffany and Ben Sharp, Ryan and Natalie Moore, Tyler Cline, Shelby and Sean Rowe, James Sturdevant, Madison Lorenzen, Lee Sturdevant, and Trey Sturdevant; as well as seven great-great-grandchildren, Cooper and Casen Cline, Jakob and Emma Cline, Ethan and Asher Rowe, and Baby Sharp (due in May). Katherine is also survived by her beloved siblings, Bill Fry and Melba Nickel; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Katherine lived a full life and touched many people. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A graveside service is 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid, with the Rev. Andrew Long officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to First Presbyterian Church in Enid.
