ENID — Graveside service for Ottis Lee LaMunyon, 86, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. Arrangements are by Anderson - Burris Funeral Home . Visitation for family and friends will be 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home .
Ottis was born to William Ottis and Stella Mae (Hickman) LaMunyon on Sept. 26, 1924, in Buffalo and died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011, at his home in Enid.
Ottis married Alice Raymond on April 14, 1942, in Buffalo.
He served in the Army Air Force during World War II. After returning home from the service, Ottis farmed in Harper County in the early 50s. He became Deputy Sheriff of Major County and later worked for Oklahoma Water Patrol. He was one of the first patrolmen to open Keystone Lake.
Ottis and Alice moved back to his home in Buffalo and opened an electrical business. After retirement, they moved to Enid. Ottis was a member of American Legion.
Ottis loved his family and was always involved in their lives. He was the one they all came to when they needed advice.
He is survived by his wife, Alice of the home ; children, Connie Robinson and husband Jim and Chris Carter, all of Enid; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Elmore LaMunyon of Buffalo; and sister, Irene Hopper of DeSota, Texas. He was especially close to all his nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Edgar and Elwood, and sister, Alice Hale.
