James Gerald Lorenz
James Gerald Lorenz was born November 16, 1933, at Okeene, Oklahoma to Edward J. Lorenz and Ida Geis Lorenz and passed away October 9, 2021, at the age of 87 years and 11 months.
He was a member of the Okeene community his whole life, leaving Okeene for a short time while he joined the military. Jim worked many jobs while living in Okeene, but he retired from United State Gypsum in 1991. Jim attended Okeene Schools until the 9th grade. Jim was a member of the First Baptist Church of Okeene. He married the love of his life, Betty Jane Parks in 1954 at Okeene. They raised their two children in Okeene.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and seven sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty Jane of the home, two children: Kendall (Kristi) Lorenz of Isabella and Kim (Rob) Bowers of Woodward, OK. Three grandchildren; Tanner (Itzel) Lorenz, Garrett Lorenz and Andrew (Lisa) Hartfiel. Also surviving are his bonus grandchildren; Audra (Josh) Davis and Deidra Clester and three bonus great grandchildren; Carson and Carter Davis and Cameron Hartfiel, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Jim will be Friday, October 15, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid, OK with Gaylon Cox officiating. Viewing and visitation will begin Thursday October 14, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Wilkinson Mortuary in Okeene.
