The funeral service celebrating the life of Gerald L. Lohse, age 83 of Enid, will be 2:00 PM Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Dwayne Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Gerald was born October 17, 1938, in Enid to Eno and Alma Emma (Meisner) Lohse, and passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022, in Oklahoma City with his family by his side.

Gerald grew up in Fairmont, he attended elementary at Zion Lutheran School and graduated in 1956 from Garber High School. In 1958, he married Meredith Chadd and they had two children. He worked for Boeing in Wichita in 1958, then later he worked at Hackney Iron and Steel, Champlin Refinery in Enid, and Conoco Phillips Houston, Texas. On August 9, 2003, he married Barbara Kapka in Enid. Gerald was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Corvettes of Enid, and the Enid Moose Lodge.

Gerald is survived by his wife Barbara; his children Debbie and Mike Read and Jerry Lohse all of Enid; three grandchildren, Holly, Amy, and Chadd; four great-grandchildren, Emma, Ava, Ashtyn, Michalyn Meredith; brother Larry Lohse of Ft. Worth, Texas. Barbara's children, Beverly and Dewey Thoes, and Bob Buckles and their families, all of Dallas, Texas

He is preceded in death by his wife Meredith, parents, his infant brother Lyle, brothers Elden, Duane, and Kenneth; sister Carol Agee.

Memorial may be made through Anderson-Burris to Redeemer Lutheran Building Fund.
