© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma July 22, 2006 September 30, 1923 ~ July 19, 2006 A graveside service for Albert L. Jennings, 82, of Enid, will be 10 am Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Revs Clayton Conley, and Dennis Treat will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by Vance Air Force Base Silver Talon Honor Guard. Arrangements are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. He was born September 30, 1923, in Dallas to Floyd Aldra and Minnie Enolia Helterbrand Jennings and died Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at Integris Bass Baptist Pavilion. He was raised in Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas, and later moved to Barr. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1945. He married Emma Lee Boyd May 4, 1944, in Amarillo, Texas. He was and aircraft mechanic for Air Force Civil Service for 32 years before retiring in 1979. They served as a volunteer Southern Baptist missionaries. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and was a deacon for more than 50 years. Surviving are his wife, Emma, of the home; one daughter, Teresa Ann of Garber; one son, Terry Wayne of Moody, Texas; one sister, Geraldine Caldwell of Enid; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. Enid, Oklahoma July 2021 March 21, 1926 ~ July 1, 2021 Emma was born March 21, 1926 to William D. Boyd Sr and Della E. [Lewis] Boyd in Poolville, Texas and passed from this life July 1, 2021 in Enid, Oklahoma. She was raised and educated in Fort Worth, Texas. She married Albert L. Jennings May 4, 1944 in Amarillo, Texas, from this union came two children Teresa and Terry. The family moved several times between Texas and Oklahoma and settled in Enid, Oklahoma in 1979. She and her husband did mission work for Builders for Christ and traveled throughout the United States helping churches. In later years she volunteered eight years for the Southern Baptist Convention and six years at Enid Inner City Ministries. She left a rich Christian legacy in her family. She loved to cook, work ceramics, and save family sentimental keepsakes. She is survived by her children Teresa Parks and husband Russell, of Perry and Terry Wayne Jennings and wife Susan, of Temple, Texas; five grandchildren, Randy and wife Delena, Neil and wife Sharon, Steven, Ron and wife Scarlet, and Jennifer and husband Quinton; her beloved great grandchildren; and Art Boyd, of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Jennings, her parents, two brothers and one sister. Memorials in her honor may be given to the North American Mission Board. |
© Anderson~Burris Funeral Home Enid, Oklahoma March 2009 June 4, 1933 ~ March 12, 2009 The funeral service for Raymond G. Jennings, age 75, of Enid, will be at 1:00 PM Monday March 16, 2009 at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randal Hackworth and Pastor Walter Martinez officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 to 6:30 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Raymond was born to Raymond Arthur and Hannah [Hodgson] Jennings on June 4, 1933 in Chicago, Ill, and died on Friday, March 13, 2009 in Enid. He grew up in Chicago, and graduated from Carrier High School, and then he served in the United States Army. On November 23, 1956 he married Ruth Ann Kappel in Wellington, Kansas, and they made their home in Enid. Later they moved to Chicago, Ill and back to Enid in 1970. Raymond worked as an electrician at the Enid State School, which later became NORCE. He retired from NORCE after working for over twenty years. He was very active in the Pioneer Pleasant Vale Lions Club, where he served all offices, he was a District III A Governor, and served on the eye bank board in Oklahoma City. Raymond was an active volunteer for Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in the Radiation Department, and involved with Relay for Life. Raymond is survived by his wife Ruth Ann of the home; two daughters Valerie Farmer and husband Joey of Dallas, TX, and Deborah Smith of Austin, TX; four grandchildren Jeffrey Smith, Jennifer Smith, Brenna Farmer, and Braden Farmer; one sister Willa Dean Dowers of Enid; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Margaret Ann Jennings. |
© Enid News and Eagle Enid, Oklahoma May 31, 2006 March 11, 1944 ~ May 28, 2006 The funeral for Danny H. Jennings, 62, of Enid, will be 2 pm Thursday at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev Carroll Still will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Army. b He was born March 11, 1944, in Enid to Cora Poplin and J.D. Blackburn and died Sunday, May 28, 2006, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center. He was raised by Emma and Luther Jennings. In 1960, he moved to Alaska where his family was stationed. In 1962, he graduated from Anchorage High School and then moved back to Enid that summer. He enlisted in the Army and was first stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas, and was sent to Korea for 13 months before moving to Fort Campbell, Ky, then to Germany. He was sent to Fort Jackson, SC, serving as a drill sergeant. He married Bertha Kliwer March 13, 1965, in Enid. He later went to Korea and then back to Fort Riley. He then was sent to Fort Shafter, Hawaii. While stationed at Fort Stewart, Ga., his unit went to Chad and Egypt, back to Germany and then back to Fort Riley. He retired from the military January 31, 1988. He started with the US Postal Service as a mailman, where he worked until his death. He was a member of US Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation and held a green belt. |
