Hendricks, 80, of Enid was at 2 pm Sunday January 20, 2008 in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev Doyle Newsom officiated. Arrangements were by Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. He was born in Magnolia City to Frank and Nettie Bradley Hendricks and died at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center. He attended schools in Antlers. He began working the family farm at the start of World War II. He married Violet Mae Hughes September 13, 1945, in Protection, Kansas. He worked for the electric company. They moved to Enid, and he worked in the oil field until his retirement. Surviving are his wife, Violet, of the home; three children, Edra Vaughn and Cheri McMurry, both of Enid and Haden Hendricks of Waukomis; one sister, Pauline Farrel; seven grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters. |

© Henninger Hinson Funeral Home Garfield County, OK June 16, 1927 ~ July 7, 2010 Violet Mae Hendricks, 83 year-old Enid OK resident, was born June 16, 1927, in Protection KS to Haden and Bessie [Hale] Hughes and died July 7, 2010, at the Methodist Home in Enid. She attended and graduated from Protection schools. On September 13, 1945, she married Edgar W. Hendricks, who preceded her in death. Together, they left Protection for Ed to work, moving several places before making Enid their home. She worked as a manager for Braum's until her retirement. The main thing in Violets life was taking care of her husband and her family. She was a very loving and caring mother who always had good humor and a positive attitude. She was known as the peacemaker. By faith, Violet was a Christian. Her hobby was cleaning everything in sight. Of special help to Violet was her niece, Lynette Vigil. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ed, two brothers, and three sisters. Violet is survived by three children, Edra Vaughn and husband Kenneth of Enid, Haden Hendricks and wife Karen of Waukomis OK, and Cheri McMurry and husband Scott of Enid; grandchildren Brent Vaughn and wife Debra of Enid, Becky Oswald and husband Russ of Waukomis, Amy Navatil and husband Michael of Enid, Chad Weber and wife Heather of Enid, Cory Weber and wife Skye of Enid, Autumn Hines and husband Rassan of Broken Arrow OK, and Andrea McMurry of Enid; great-grandchildren Allen, Alyssa, Austin, Avery, Blane, Brock, Caleb, Chyanne, Courtney, Duren, Jakai, Kaden, Randi, Taylor, Tessa, Tinah, Trevor, and twin boys born yesterday; as great-great grandchild, Kayleigh; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. |
