Robert B. Guthrie
August 15, 1928 - January 22, 2011

Funeral service for Robert B. "Bob" Guthrie Sr., 82, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Kenneth Wade will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Bob was born Aug. 15, 1928, in Enid, Okla., to Steve and Helen Guthrie and died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center, Enid, Okla. He married Syble L. Kennington of Enid on Sept. 8, 1950. He went to work at Champlin Refinery in 1950 and retired from Champlin in January 1984. After retirement, he started Guthrie's Satellite Service and ran it until 1991, then started Guthrie's Auto Salvage. It was run by him and his grandson, Trey.

He is survived by his wife, Syble, of the home; sisters, Ruby and husband Larry Peck of Ames, Okla., and Jewel Kimmell of Enid, Okla.; son, Robert B "JR" Guthrie Jr. and wife Shirley of Fairmont, Okla.; four grandchildren, Jaime Jantz and husband Isaac of Enid, Okla., Robin Smith and husband Travis of Edmond, Okla., Shannon Shields and husband Eli of Wichita, Kan., Robert B. "Trey" Guthrie III of Fairmont, Okla.; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Steve, Howard, Raymond and Paul; one sister, Pearl Stark; and son, Thomas James "Tommy" Guthrie.
