Funeral services for Samuel Dollar Jr., 82, of Enid, will be held Monday, March 19, 2007, at 10 a.m. at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Tom Arnould will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Sam was born April 1, 1924, in Ardmore, Okla., to Samuel Way and Elmer (Edington) Dollar and died March 14, 2007, in Enid, Okla.
On March 26, 1951, he married Mildred Birchfield in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He retired from the United States Air Force in 1974, after 20 years of active duty and ten years of Air Force Reserve Service. He continued as an aircraft mechanic at Vance Air Force Base with Serv-Air and Northrop. He owned and operated a landscaping and lawn service in Enid.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred, of the home; sons, Billy Dollar and his wife Joanne of Garber, Okla., Sam Dollar and his wife Darlene of Md., Larry Dollar of Enid, Daniel Dollar and his wife Becky of Ark., and Richard Dollar and his wife Debra of Nev.; one sister, Louise Stevens, Okla.; 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
