Grace Hronopulos Davis passed away Sept. 29, 2014, at the age of 91. She was a lifelong resident of Enid, being born on Jan. 24, 1923, to Helen and George Hronopulos.
She attended Adams, Longfellow and Enid High. She excelled academically and in all sports, especially tennis. She met her husband Jack Davis at Enid Business College. They married in Skagway, Alaska — a great adventure, and were together 65 years. They raised four children, Helen, Holly, Melinda and George. She has four brothers and sisters living, John Hronopulos, Sodie Swinehart, Audie Pitsiri and Effie Outhier.
She had three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews. After World War II, Grace and Jack began business together with a concession stand at Government Springs Park. She was much of the “backbone” of the business. She was active in later years in developing real estate and making many business decisions. Grace loved the YMCA, where she played raquetball, instructed and served on the board. A great reader all her life, Grace also loved Life Long Learning. She recently worked with Adams Elementary to enhance the learning opportunities of the students by providing technology and other improvements. She was a learned, generous and gentle lady who will be missed by all who love her.
