Funeral services for Pastor Alvin Leon Dalton, 72, Enid, will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, in the House of Prayer with Pastor Gary Miller officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.
Pastor Dalton was born on Sept. 23, 1942, in Coyle, Oklahoma, the son of Troy and Gussie Nicholson Dalton, and went to be with the Lord on Nov. 3, 2014. He moved to Enid when he was 8 and attended Enid Schools, later attending Phillips University.
Pastor Dalton served House of Prayer as youth minister, later associate pastor, and upon the passing of his father in law, became senior pastor. Pastor Dalton married Carolyn Sue Murdy in Enid on April 10, 1965.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue of the residence; daughter, Darla and husband, Alan Robbins of Sapulpa; brothers, Floyd and Leonard, both of Enid; sisters, Naomi Rand and Deloris Buck, both of Enid; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pastor Dalton was preceded in passing by his parents, and daughter, Carla Raushi.
