ENID — A celebration of life for Larry Dalrymple, 57, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at Anderson - Burris Funeral Home . Larry fought a very brave and courageous battle with cancer for three plus years. He will be missed very much and remembered fondly.

"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies." John 11:25.

Larry was born to Daniel and Shelva (Turner) Dalrymple on May 2, 1954, in Vici and died Monday, Sept. 5, 2011, in Enid.

He graduated from Enid High in 1973.

On March 7, 1975, he married Peggy Willis, his junior and high school sweetheart, daughter of James and Kay Willis, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Larry worked at Failings and the city of Enid for 21 years until his death. He was instrumental in helping form AFSCME, a union for the non-uniformed city of Enid employees.

Larry was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's by Pastor Kenneth Wade in 1975.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on his classic trucks. Larry loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Tara Lee, the apple of his eye.

Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Peggy; son, David and wife Carolina; granddaughter, Tara Lee; brothers, Alan, Bart and Danny, all of Enid; and sisters, Lisa Benshoff, Lori Kilpatrick and Shannon Gomez.
