The graveside service for Norma Gay Cottom, 92, of Okeene, formerly of Drummond, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, at Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Frisbie officiating. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
She was born May 8, 1923, in Weatherford, Okla., to W.C. and Catherine Elizabeth Renshaw Lovely and died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, in the Okeene Municipal Hospital. She graduated from Ames High School in 1941. She later married George W. Cottom and moved to Drummond, Okla., where they made their home for over 25 years. She worked in the United States Civil Service Commission at Johnston Grain Company for over 10 years, and later became a caregiver.
She is survived by her special niece/daughter/caregiver, Elizabeth Ellis of Ames; four brothers, Gene Lovely, Jack Lovely, Ronnie Lovely and Jim Lovely; numerous grand-hildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both parents; three sisters, Vivian Hand, Rena Whitfield and Ladonna Fonzi; one brother, Fred Lovely; and her former husband, George W. Cottom.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Summer Health Services in Okeene, Okla., for all their kind and caring support they have shown.
Memorials in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
