September 11, 1950 - February 21, 2018

The Funeral services celebrating and honoring the life of Candice Gail “Candy” Corvin, 67, of Enid, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday February 24, 2018 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Zach Klassen officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

She was born September 11, 1950 the daughter of Alfred and Alberta (Parrot) Seltenreich in Enid and passed from this life on February 21, 2018 at her home in Enid with her family at her side. She was raised and educated in Enid before transferring to Southwestern Bible School graduating in 1968. She was married in 1969 and from this union came two daughters Melodye and Chanelle. She moved to Oklahoma City in 1969 where she was able to turn her passion for music and her gift for song writing into a career. In 1981, she worked with Geffen Records and Charlie Murdock who was the manager for Elton John. She then started the Sha-Mel Music Publishing, Inc. and Mega Records, signing five acts, and producing four albums. She continued her work with several other songwriters including Kere Buchanan and Glenn Bidmead of Australia.

In 1984 she moved with her daughters to Enid to be near family and raise her daughters. She loved helping, guiding and inspiring the next generation and for the next 18 years she did that as an instructor with the Enid Head Start program. She loved greatly throughout her life, but no doubt her greatest love was with her family. Without a second thought she sacrificed everything to give her daughters the best life she could. Her relationship with her mother was a very loving and special one and they worked as a team. She was an actively involved member of Bethel Baptist Church for many years.

She is survived by her mother; Alberta Seltenreich, of the home, daughters; Melodye and husband Evan Klassen, Chaney and husband Mark Satterfield, grandchildren; Zach Klassen and wife Mallory, Trey Klassen, Brandon Klassen, Matt Klassen, who knew her as Grandma; Alyssa Nicole Candice Hummel and Shane Wilson, who knew her as Nana; and 2 great grandchildren, Casen and Cali Klassen.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Seltenreich, and her grandmother, Esther Parrot.
