A funeral service for Mildred Marie Copeland, age 68, will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Your Family Church, with Pastor Rick Dominic officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with family will be Monday evening 5:30 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mildred was born to Arthur and Alene (Rogers) Cornelius on January 30, 1944, in Benton, Arkansas, and died Saturday, March 24, 2012 at her home in Enid.
Mildred grew up in North Enid. On June 24, 1966, she married Ivan Duane Copeland in Pampa, Texas. They lived in Wichita Falls, Texas, Norman, and then Phoenix for 28 years. She retired from the Phoenix Police Department as a police assistant. They moved back to Enid, and she was a nail tech, cake decorator, and enjoyed ceramics, upholstery, and raising parrots.
Mildred was a member of Your Family Church.
She is survived by husband Ivan; children Michael Copeland of Phoenix, Arizona, Gina Hughes of Ogden, Utah, Tracy Copeland (Kim) of Claremore, Oklahoma, and Kandi Manzanares (Ruben) of West Jordan, Utah; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers Lindy Cornelius of Enid, Jim Sewell of London, Arkansas; three sisters, Sharon Miller of Kansas City, Missouri, Drucilla Melbe and Lavelle Robertson, both of Enid.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, brother Buddy Cornelius, and two sons-in-law, Frank and Kim.
Memorials are to Hospice Circle of Love.
