The funeral service for Billie Louise Copeland will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2017, at Bible Baptist Church, with the Rev. Terry Chick officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation with family will be from 2-4 p.m. today, March 5, 2017, in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel.
Billie was born Jan. 28, 1922, in Sedan, Kan., to Walter and Mae (Anderson) Williams and passed away March 3, 2017, in Enid. She attended Sedan schools and graduated Sedan High School with the class of 1940. In September of that same year, Billie married Madison J. Copeland, and after he served in the European Theater, the couple moved to Enid, making it their home, where Billie was a homemaker and raised the kids. Billie was a longtime member of Bible Baptist Church, where she played the organ alongside her husband for 40 years. She served as a volunteer at St. Mary's Medical Center. She served as president, as well as other offices for the Auxiliary for over 23 years. Billie enjoyed baking, cooking and sewing, but mostly loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Billie is survived by her daughter, Kathy Whitney and husband, Joe of Bossier City, La.; son, Tim Copeland and wife, Lisa of Enid; grandchildren, Stephanie, Brooke, Heather, Courtney and Erica; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margie and Helen and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her brother, Walter.
Memorials may be made to Bible Baptist Church or St. Mary's Volunteers with the funeral home acting as custodian of the funds.
