What a fitting end to a proud father's life. The kids said:

" Dad carried us, now we will carry him."

Frank Edward Coffey was born November 20, 1938 to Robert and Pearl (Messenger) Coffey in Enid. Growing up, he enjoyed nothing more than playing baseball with his friends. He went on to play with a minor league team.

Frank served his country for nine years as a Staff Sergeant in the Army National Guard. He received an honorable discharge in 1964. In 1962, Frank married Judith Sloan and they had six children, Frank Jr. (Butch) Coffey currently in Sweden; Sherida Johnson, Wylie, TX; Robert (Scooter) Coffey, Enid; Larry Coffey, Enid; Samantha Bee, Enid; and Amanda Self, Alvarado, TX.

For over 19 years, Frank worked as a machinist for Speedstar. Then, he opened his first bar in North Enid in 1988. Frank married JoElla Allen in October of 1989 and gained two more daughters, Brandy Washburn, Enid and Amber May, Perryton, TX. Frank and JoElla went on to manage and run two more bars in Enid, Club 30 and Franks Place. He continued his love of baseball, music and his family and friends right up to his final days.

Frank passed away at home August 1, 2012 surrounded by those who loved him. Frank laughed often; he loved with his whole heart and he fought the good fight of life. He lived well and he gave ‘em hell.

He follows both of his parents, brother, Robert and father-in-law, Ernie Allen in death. He leaves behind his wife, JoElla; all eight of his children and their spouses; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Della Irene Mott; mother-in-law, Deanna Allen and his three beloved cats.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday, August 6, 2012 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will be 2-4pm Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in Frank's name to Pioneer Baseball Camp through Interbank, 3702 W. Owen K. Garriott, Enid, OK, 73703.
