ENID, OK — Funeral service honoring the life of Elmo H. Chapman, 92, of Enid, Okla., will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014, at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Gary Miller will officiate.

Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery with Military graveside honors conducted by the United States Marine Corps. Service is under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

He was born May 21, 1922, to Henry and Alice (Moxon) Chapman in Leedy, Okla., and passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, in Enid.

He attended Leedy and Waukomis schools.

He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on Dec. 26, 1941, serving in the Pacific Theater of WWII. He was honorably discharged on Dec. 29, 1945.

He married Faye Wilson on May 5, 1944, in Enid. They were married 36 years. She preceded him in death on Jan. 29, 1981. He married Oneta Sams on April 6, 1988, in Miami, Okla. She preceded him in death on Sept. 12, 2011.

He worked for the Waukomis School District as a custodian for 32 years, until he retired in 1985.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Marine Corps League.

He is survived by his daughter, Pamela and husband Bob Worth of Nash; son, Kelsey Chapman of Enid; stepsons, Don Wilson of Blanchard and Richard Wilson of Inola; brother, Vernon L. Chapman of Drummond; sister, Velma Milam of Waukomis; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the National Kidney Foundation with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
