The funeral for Beth Arline Weaver Phillips Casida, 92, of Enid, will be 11 a.m. today, June 17, 2008, at Garland Road Baptist Church. The Revs. Alison Phillips Robuck and Chris Percival will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

She was born May 1, 1916, in Tulsa to Hilbert Otis and Anna Witt Weaver and died Saturday, June 14, 2008, at her home in Enid. She grew up in Tulsa and graduated from Tulsa Central High School in 1934. She married Philip Madison Phillips Aug. 19, 1934, in Tulsa, where they made their home. He died in 1948.

She was a member of Tulsa First Baptist Church before moving to Colorado Springs, Colo., in 1947. She returned to Tulsa where she was superintendent of Francis Willard Home for Girls.

She married Delmer S. Casida in 1958. They lived in Colorado Springs and then returned to Tulsa in 1960. They later moved to Taos, N.M. In 1996, they moved to Enid. They had been married for more than 40 years at his death in 1999.

She was a member of Garland Road Baptist Church, where she served as church hostess, sang in the choir, played handbells and helped direct the children’s Kristol Bells. She also was a member of Enid Symphony Auxiliary.

Surviving are one daughter, Phyllis Phillips; two stepchildren, Ken Casida of Visalia, Calif., and Kay Ross of San Antonio; one sister, Vernus Crain of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to both husbands, Philip and Delmer, she was preceded in death by one son and three sisters.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Garland Road Baptist Church, Enid Symphony or Hospice Circle of Love.

August 26, 1917 - May 8, 1999

Memorial services for Delmer S. Casida wre held Wednesday, May 12, 1999 under the direction of Henninger Allen Funeral Home. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was born August 26, 1917 to Jesse Casida and Bessie A. Hale Casida in Paola Miama Kansas and passed away in Enid on May 8, 1999 at the age of 81.

He married Beth Weaver Phillips on November 1, 1958 and she survives him.

They had lived in Enid since 1996.
