Funeral service for Esther “Yvonne” Morris Carrison will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at Enid Free Methodist Church, with the Rev. Janice Buffalo officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Yvonne was born June 3, 1943, in rural Ames, Okla., to William and Faye (Durgan) Morris.
She graduated with a class of seven from Lacy High School in 1961.
On Aug. 3, 1968, Yvonne married Dennis Carrison at Free Methodist Church in Enid, Okla.
She enjoyed traveling various places with Dennis during his Air Force career. In 1989, Dennis retired from the military and together, they made their home in Omaha. While in Omaha, Yvonne worked at Physician’s Mutual for seven years and worked for BCS Cleaning until 2012. During this time, she played an active role in her grandchildren’s upbringing.
For the past three years, she suffered from vascular dementia (Alzheimer’s) and Parkinson’s disease, which she succumbed to on July 10, 2015.
While in Enid, Yvonne was active at Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling but especially loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brother and three sisters.
Yvonne is survived by husband, Dennis; two children, Jonathan Carrison and wife Vanessa, and Jennifer Cosgrove and husband David; six grandchildren; one brother; two sisters; and numerous extended family.
Memorials may be given through the funeral home or directly to Alzheimer’s Association Nebraska Chapter at 1941 S. 42nd St., Suite 205, Omaha, NE 68105.
