ENID — Funeral service for Deoral Eagle Carr Sr., 79, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at First Missionary Baptist Church with Supt. Derwin Norwood Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A time of visitation with the family will be 6-7:30 p.m. Friday at Anderson - Burris Funeral Home.
Deoral was born to Rodric Carr Sr. and Deloris H. (Williams) Carr on March 18, 1931, in Enid.
Deoral attended Booker T. Washington High School. He also served our country for six years in the United States Army during the Korean conflict, in which he was stationed in Germany for three years.
Deoral worked construction for several years and later worked for Pillsbury Mills Co./ADM Milling Co., where he retired after 30 plus years. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Local Union 356. Deoral also attended Westside Church of God in Christ. He loved his children. He enjoyed farming and his cattle.
He is survived by his wife, Donna of the home; children, Tony Carr (Roslyn) of Enid, Deoral Carr Jr. (Melanie) of Enid, Chetti Carr of McKinney, Texas, Lydell Carr (Jill) of Plano, Texas, Tim Carr (Chrys) of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Linnea Carr-Wynn (DeAndre) of Ellenwood, Ga.; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Rodric Carr Jr., Gordon Carr, Willard Dean Carr and Dillard Jean Carr; three sisters, Billie June Holland, Joan Boyd and Connie Hinton, all of Enid; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lori Ann Carr; and three sisters.
Memorials may be made to the funeral home in his memory.
