Irene was born July 8, 1941, in Enid, to Clint and Doris (Horsley) Thrasher, and died Thursday, January 3, 2019, in her daughter's home in Katy, Texas.
She attended local schools and graduated from Enid High School with the class of 1959. She then attended the University of Oklahoma where she studied music and languages.

Her friends and family were amazed at her ability to remember, names, birthdays, and historic information on almost everyone. She was kind and generous to all and was a strong Christian with an unwavering faith.
