April 14, 1922 - June 17, 2024

The funeral for Margaret Merryman Castor, 102 year-old Enid resident is 1:00 PM Friday, June 21, 2024 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Margaret E. (Castor) Merryman was born April 14, 1922 in Shamrock, Oklahoma to Lewis and Vida (Jones) Woodruff. Died June 17, 2024 at 102 years of age. She moved to Enid at a young age and graduated from Enid High School. She also attended Enid Business College.

She married Elgin Castor on January 5th, 1941. They had three children. Mike Castor (Deloris), Denise Marshello, and a baby named Patrick which died shortly after birth. Our father Elgin died in 1999.

She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Cody Castor (Tina), Clinton Castor, and Shellea Peterson. Great grandchildren, Haley and (Tyler) Stach, Stephanie and Jake Pipak, Cole Castor, Vann Castor, Rebekah Smith, Ralph Fatzer and Ryan Fatzer, and Cannon, Dacy, and Dally Peterson. And one great great grandchild, Dawson Stach.

She later married Dean Merryman who also preceded her in death. "(Was she hard on husbands?)."

Margaret spent her early days raising children and then worked at Kingfisher Federal Savings and Loans. She started as a teller and worked way up to Loan Officer and board member.

She was a member of Central Christian for 95 years. Anyone who wishes may make memorials to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation and Traditions Hospice with Henninger-Hinson as custodian.
