ENID, OK — Celebration of life service for Robert Lawayne Truitt, 52, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2014, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Al McVety and the Rev. Jay Risner will officiate. Burial will be in Enid Mennonite Brethren Cemetery.
Cremation and services under direction of Ladusau-Evans.
Robert was born December 30, 1961, in Enid, OK, to Robert and Viola Regier Truitt and passed away June 6, 2014, at his home.
Robert attended Garfield Elementary and Longfellow Junior High and graduated from Enid High School in 1980.
Robert was a member of Enid Mennonite Brethren Church and had been active in AWANA. He had been attending Cornerstone Church. Robert previously worked for Northwest Aero and Advance Food and worked at Lowes Home Improvement for the past eight years. Robert enjoyed and participated in Special Olympics.
Robert loved to fish and collect things. He enjoyed teasing his nieces and nephews and giving them gifts.
Robert is survived by his mother, Viola Truitt of Enid; father, Robert Truitt and his wife Velda of Fairview; sisters, Susan Myers and husband Isaac and Brenda and husband Kevin Friesen both of Enid; brother, Mike Truitt and wife Kim of Bethany; five nieces; four nephews; and numerous other family members.
Memorials may be made in his name to Special Olympics or the funeral home, with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of funds.
