The graveside service for Eleanor B. Riffel, 95-year-old Enid resident, will be 10 a.m. today, May 2, 2011, in Enid Mennonite Brethren Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Pastor Garvie Schmidt will officiate. Eleanor was born Oct. 1, 1915, in Enid to Abraham A. and Annie Frances (Vogt) Goertz and died Thursday, April 28, 2011, at Greenbrier Nursing Home.
She attended local schools and graduated from a German high school near Kremlin. On Nov. 1, 1936, she married Harley Milton Riffel in Enid. The couple made their home on the farm north of Enid. They moved to Enid in 1950. She was a pharmacy clerk at Bass hospital for 28 years. She was a lifetime member of Enid Mennonite Brethren Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Joy Bradley, of the home; four grandchildren, Paul, Todd, Chrissy, Teri and Amy; four great-grandchildren, Chandler, Randee, Lexie and Kristopher; one brother, Mel Goertz of San Jose, Calif; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Harley in 1972, her parents, two brothers, two sisters, and granddaughter Kendra.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Enid Mennonite Brethren Church, for either church camps or AWANA ministries.

Harley M. Riffel, 58, 1709 Pawhuska, died suddenly Wednesday evening of an apparent heart attack. His funeral will be at 2 PM Saturday in the Enid Mennonite Brethren Church at 2500 N. Van Buren with the Rev. Lynford J. Becker officiating.
Burial will be in the Mennonite Brethren Cemetery under the direction of the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home. The family has designated the Heart Division of the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation as a suitable memorial to Riffle. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
Riffle graduated from Enid high school. He and Eleanor Goetz were married November 1, 1936, in Enid and he farmed north of here for several years before moving to Enid in 1950.
Riffle had been employed by the city of Enid since 1953, and was garage superintendent at the time of his death.
He was a member of the Enid Mennonite Brethren Church, the Ambassador Sunday School Class and the American Public Works Association.
Survivors include his widow Eleanor of the home; a daughter Joy of the home; a sister, Mrs. Elma Sadau, Houston, Texas. His parents and one brother Herman predeceased him.
