Mennonite Brethren Cemetery

Ruby Lois (Buller) Regier
April 23, 1936 - November 11, 2023

Ruby Lois (Buller) Regier, 87, of Cleo Springs, Oklahoma departed this life on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Enid, Oklahoma after a short hospital stay. Ruby was born April 23, 1936 at home near Waka, Texas to David and Sarah (Kroeker) Buller.

Ruby was the youngest of 13 children. At the age of six her family moved to the home place north of Cleo Springs. The family attended the Saron Mennonite Church near by Orienta and at the age of 12 she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and joined the church. During her teen years she loved to play softball. She was the pitcher and played without a mitt. She said she wasn't a fast runner so she hit the ball hard. Ruby also convinced her dad to let her wear pants while playing. She attended Oklahoma Bible Academy in Meno where she got up at 5:00 a.m. daily to cook breakfast for all the dorm students to help pay for her tuition. Ruby loved to sing. Throughout her life she sang in trios, quartets and choir with a beautiful alto or tenor voice. That was where she met the love of her life. At a choir concert her senior year there was a man named Isaac in the audience who noticed Ruby. Ike and Ruby were married on January 7, 1955. To this union they were soon blessed with a baby boy, then two daughters and another son. Ruby knew how to work and raise a family. She sewed their clothes for them, had a huge garden that she picked and canned, and helped Ike with the farming and the cattle. Once the children were in school Ruby began to work outside the home. She cooked and baked in school cafeterias, cafes, nursing home and the Fairview M.B. Church. Ruby was best known for baking cinnamon rolls and zwieback.

Ruby and Ike loved to travel, spend time with grandchildren and attended all their games and activities. Ruby filled her time after Ike passed with word searches and embroidery work. Just finishing a baby quilt for a great grand baby last week. She was generous with her resources, giving to her church, children and Mission Aviation Fellowship.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband Isaac in 2011; son Isaac Jr. in 2021; and all of her siblings; She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Bartel and husband Howard and Lynette Schoenhals and husband Warren; son Steven Regier and wife Rhonda; daughter-in-law Teresa Regier; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren with 3 on the way.
