Services for Edward Richey, 90, of Kremlin, will be 2:00p.m., Thursday June 20, 2019 at Kremlin Community United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Kim Domnick. Burial will follow in Kremlin Cemetery.
Edward Franklin Richey was born at home near Kremlin, Oklahoma on April 27, 1929 and passed away June 15, 2019 in Enid, Oklahoma. He attended school at Kremlin and at the age of 20 was disabled as a result of a near fatal vehicle accident.
Despite his handicap, Edward liked to stay as active as possible doing yard work and helping others. Most of his working years were spent as a devoted house parent to residents at Enid State School.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve; mother, Minnie Richey Steele; step-father, Gilbert Steele; and brothers, Glenn and Lee Steele.
He is survived by his sister, Ida Hamm of Oklahoma City; sisters-in-law, Dora Steele and Beverly Steele both of Enid; companion and cousin, Donna L. Richey of Kremlin; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Kremlin Cemetery with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds. Condolences may be made and services viewed at www.ladusauevans.com
