ENID — Betty Jane Foltz was born April 13, 1925, in Enid, Okla., to Frank and Leora Green. She was 86 when she passed away Monday, June 20, 2011, in Seguin, Texas.
Betty graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1942. That same year she married Donald Earl Foltz.
After he was drafted, they lived together for nine months at Ft. Carson in Colorado. Once Don was shipped overseas Betty came home to Hillsdale to be with her family. After the war, Don returned to Hillsdale and they began their life together. They opened a grocery store in Hillsdale , which she ran while Don continued to work in Enid.
Betty was a long time member of Hillsdale Bible Church. Betty and Don were both avid supporters of their community.
They were two of the founding members of the Hillsdale Booster Club, in which they were active members for decades. Always a team, they were known for their care of the Hillsdale community building that had once been their grocery store.
She and Don attended countless ballgames, concerts, plays and chili suppers even after their children and grandchildren were no longer in school. She lived in Hillsdale the rest of her adult life until she was forced for health reasons to move closer to family in Texas.
