Garber Oklahoma November 1913 June 5, 1829 ~ November 20, 1913 John H. Kindt was born in Mecklenburg, Germany on July 5, 1829 and died at the home of his daughter, Caroline E. Borneman, living near Hunter, Oklahoma, on November 20, 1913, at the age of 84 years, 4 months and 15 days. In 1850 he married Sophia Engelbrecht. They had seven children. Two of the children died in infancy. The other five survive their father. Sohpia Kindt passed away in 1887 in Kansas City, Missouri. John came to the United States in 1868 settling in Illinois and later he lived in Colorado, Missouri and Oklahoma.For the past two yers he had lived with his daughter, Caroline Borneman. As a child he joined the German Lutheran Church and remained a faithful member until d=his death. Funeral services were conducted in Caroline's home on Saturday, November 22, 1913. Rev Enos Freuteel officiated in English. After the body was taken to the German utheran Church and the services were conducted in German. John was layed to rest in the German Lutheran Cemetery of Hunter, Oklahoma |
