J. E. Weldon died at his home three miles southeast of town, Monday, after 9 years of suffering. Mr. Weldon was born in Kentucky, September 17, 184_. He leaves a wife and two sons, who have the sympathy of the entire community. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Munger, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Marshall cemetery, Tuesday afternoon.

Obituary
Joseph E. Weldon died at his home three miles southeast of Douglas, Okla., Garfield Co., Monday, October 30, 1905, after nine years of suffering. He was born in Hart county, Kentucky, September 12, 1841. Aged 64 years, 1 month and 18 days. He moved to Daviess Co. Missouri, in 1881, in the year of 1883 was married to Sarah Belle Taylor September 6. To this union was born five children, four boys and one girl. Three of them, two boys and a girl, preceded him to great beyond. He made a confession of religion in 1881 at the Presbyterian church in Kentucky, where he promised to meet his mother. He did not unite with any church but lived in Christian hope until death. Mr. Weldon was willing and ready for his resting day to come and prayed that God might release him from his suffering. He leaves to mourn his loss, a wife, two sons, three brothers and two sisters, and a host of relatives and friends. He was a kind and affectionate husband and loving father, true to his wife, children and neighbors. He was laid to rest Tuesday, October 31, in the IOOF cemetery of Marshall by the side of his daughter, there to await the resurrection morning. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Munger.
